TDT – Cali’s Best Burger?

A couple of days ago a good friend of mine invited me to have a burger with him at a place called TDT – Tierra De Todos in La Flora here in Cali.

Initially, I was a little hesitant to go. I don’t usually drive 20 minutes through rush hour to eat a burger – something that can be had on almost every corner these days. But he insisted – “hey bro – these are the best freaking burgers in Cali and I’m buying tonight”… For a food-lover like myself, that’s a hard proposition to beat.

We arrived around 7 PM on a Thursday and it was packed! You need to place your order with the cashier and I counted at least 30 people waiting in line to place the order.

The menu is super simple, almost like In-N-Out Burger. You can get a single or a double burger, add cheese, bacon, pickles, jalapeños. Fries are included, there’s a basic drink selection and that’s about it.

Seeing all these guests in the restaurant made me think that we would have to wait forever to receive our order, but I didn’t take 5 minutes before the buzzer on our table began to vibrate and we could pick up our burgers at the desk. When you only have 2 things on the menu, it’s easy to crank out burgers fast!

A single – the I’ve since had the double and it’s too much meat for me to process.

The burger that showed up looked nice, but really like many other burgers from a visual standpoint. But once you bite into it you’ll immediately notice the difference. It was about the juiciest hamburger I’ve ever had in my life. You fingers will be dripping from all the goodness! Don’t worry, create a mess and clean up afterwards. You will not regret it!

Oh – and the home-made spicy dressing and sweet bbq sauce for the fries are awesome as well!

So in conclusion, I must agree. I believe TDT serves Cali’s best burger!

Story has it that it’s a young local who got the recipe in Miami and came to Cali to start his first joint. Business most be booming because TDT has 4 locations in Cali after just being open for 2 years.

La Flora – Calle 44N # 3HN-08

Calle 9 # 64A – 17

Ciudad Jardin – Carrera 105 # 14-08

Centro inside Centro Comercial El Gran Comercio – Carrera 6 # Calle 15 this location is open from 11 AM to 7 PM.

All other locations are open from 5 PM to midnight every day.

  1. Hi, thanks for the leg work, I’m visiting in November and I need your information for my trip. I eat all organic, I have a pretty big garden here and I appreciate the information you are providing. I plan to cook most of my own food, is there organic meat available?
    Thanks again

  2. Hi Gavin, please understand that Colombia is not as far ahead when it comes to certifications. I have never seen certified organic meat here, but you can visit the organic market where I know that they sell at least chicken meat that is all free-range, antibiotic-free, etc.
You can find the information on the weekly market here.

    Best, Patrick

… And welcome to Adventure! I arrived in Cali for the first time as a tourist in 2011, passing through on a motorcycle. When I arrived for the second time I came as a father and as a resident, without having any friends (except for my girlfriend), and without speaking Spanish.
