(Updated Nov 1, 2023)
I moved to Colombia from Denmark in 2013, and still live in Cali with my wife and two daughters. Over the past 10 years that I’ve been living and investing here, I have started 3 companies, and developed 61 apartments (with investors) for the long and short-term rental market (Airbnb, etc). Currently, I have a portfolio of 74 apartments and 19 under construction.
I get a lot of inquiries from people asking advice on a wide range of topics related to living and investing in Cali and Colombia. I’d love to help you all, that’s why I created this site in the first place. But the reality is that my time – just like yours – is limited, and I believe that our time on this planet is the most important resource we have.
For that reason, I can not give my time away for free, beyond the content already provided in the articles here.
If, however, you are serious about getting some advice and are willing to compensate me for my time, then I’d be happy to assist you.
To be honest, 30-60 minutes of my time could probably save you thousands of dollars and countless hours of frustration on any of the following topics.
- Moving to Colombia
- How to get a visa, residency or citizenship in Colombia
- Having kids here, choosing a kindergarten or school for them
- Obtaining medical insurance
- Starting a business
- Opening bank accounts
- Dealing with permits and bureaucracy
- Working with lawyers and accountants
Colombian real estate is my specialty and I can consult you on almost any aspect of the the industry, including…
- Where to find the best returns on your investment.
- Finding and negotiating a property.
- Signing a contract to purchase.
- Bringing in funds from abroad legally.
- Banking and setting up high-interest accounts.
- The closing process.
- Available sources of financing.
- Renovating and furnishing your property.
- Long-term vs. Short-term rentals.
- Property management.
- Customer service for short term rentals.
- Managing reviews.
- Optimizing rentals.
- Hiring and firing employees, including contract templates.
- Recommendations for realtors, accountants, tax specialists or lawyers, that won’t rip you off.
- Etc.
So whether you’re considering moving to or investing in Colombia, if you’ve already arrived and don’t know where to start, or even if you have experience but are looking to improve or grow your business, then I’d be happy to talk to chat.
We can setup a call via phone, Whatsapp, Skype, Zoom or whatever works for you – or even meet if you’re in Cali.
I charge $2 USD per minute and if you’re not 100% satisfied with the value of the information I give you, then you don’t have to pay me anything. You don’t pay until after our conversation.
If interested, shoot me an email to hola(at)caliadventurer.com and we’ll set up a meeting.
To your success,
Patrick
