Do you ever get enough of the Colombian fritanga? Empanadas, papa rellena, chicharrón, picada and chunchulo might taste good, but isn’t good for you.
Enter Go Green, a salad bar and newcomer on the Cali restaurant scene.
The restaurant is built kind of like a Subway. The menu includes salad bowls, rice bowls, sandwiches, wraps, and quesadillas. You order by the cashier and can either let them play the entire piano for you or stay at the bar and choose which ingredients goes into your bowl. Desserts include yogurt parfaits and chocolate mousses with fruits.
It attracts a lot of the fit and pretty people in Cali, so if you enjoy people watching, this alone should be reason enough to justify a visit.
From the very first glance, it’s easy to see that this is not your average Colombian mom and pop operation, but a concept restaurant. Normally, I’m not a big fan of eating at franchise establishments, but I must admit that I really enjoyed my salad at Go Green. It’s not like the mouthwatering, eye-candy at Mickey D’s, that makes you wanna put two fingers down your throat after finishing your meal. The concept is well done and you feel genuinely good after eating there.
As of this writing, there is only one location in Cali, but I’m confident that this number will be growing over the coming years. After a bit of investigation, I found out that it is a Guatemalan franchise restaurant. I have not inquired about the prices, requirements, royalties or anything like that, but people interested in Colombian franchise opportunities may contact HQ here.
