You ever feel a need for a good massage? I try to get a full-body massage at least once a month. It’s a small luxury, but I’ve found that it relieves small pains and improves my mood. I prefer a a relaxing oil full-body massage. Not only does it feel amazing, but massages also come with a range of benefits. First off, they have been proven to decrease inflammation and modulates the immune system. That means fewer aches and pains for you. Second, a study published in the JAMA Internal Medicine showed a relaxing massage helped patients with osteoarthritis improve their range of motion and decrease pain.
It’s easy to find a place that will sell you a massage, but to find someone that actually gives a good massage is a different story. I’ve tried different places in Cali, but keep coming back to Corpobello Medical Spa in barrio El Peñon. They have beautiful facilities and I feel immediately at home there. The lobby is very nice and they serve you a relaxing tea, while they prepare your room. Once ready, they will have you change to a robe, slippers and underwear and bring you into a dark room with easylistening music. Make sure to tell them if you want your massage harder (más fuerte) or more soft (más suave). Once done they have showers if you prefer to rinse the message oil off.
I get the same treatment every time, a 1-hour relaxing massage, that cost $67.000 pesos (less than US$30). A full-body massage where I come from in Europe easily cost US$100, so when I have friends and family visiting, I usually invite them to go. Without exception they have absolutely loved it.
As I have only tried one of their services, I can not testify to the other products, but from looking at their website, I see their business is divided into four segments: The spa, aesthetics, medical aesthetics and rejuvenation, with services and treatments including sauna, steam-bath, couple’s massages, facial treatments, peelings, cellulite-removal, exfoliating packages, Botox injections, exfoliation, full-day packages, etc.
Please let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of the other services and how it was.
Corpobello Medical Spa

Opening hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 7:00pm. Saturdays from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
It’s on the second floor, so you walk up to the door, ring the bell, tell them you want a massage and they will let you in. I’ve never booked in advance, but for weekends you might have to.
BTW, if a full-body massage is out of your budget, you can always DIY, using either a tennis ball or something like the Body Back Buddy. If you’re not in possession of either, then see if you can get your partner to barter with you 🙂
Just an FYI the prices seem to have gone up to 80.000 for an hour massage! 🙂
Ouch! The mighty powers of inflation 🙁
haha prices going up but still very affordable for what you get 🙂
Great – how much are they asking now?
I’m on their website now and their 30-minute massage is $65,000 pesos which is approx. $22-23 US dollars. Their 1-hour massage is $110,000 pesos which is about $37-38 dollars. Their 1.5 hours massage is $160,000 pesos which is approx $54-55 dollars. So it seems they’ve gone down in price again! YAY for me since I will be there next month, can’t wait to visit!
Hi, Patrick, I’m an neuromuscular sports massage therapist. I was wondering if you have advice about possible being able to work a little while I’m down there in Feb. Was thinking Either Cali or Santa marta. Thanks for any ideas.
